Welcome to Arbutus Ridge
Arbutus Ridge is a gated community for adults 55 and over, set on the waterfront in Cobble Hill. More than 640 homes share 148 acres of shoreline, forest and an 18-hole golf course, with views out to Salt Spring Island and Mount Baker.
For a lot of my clients, Arbutus Ridge is the right next step after the family home. Less upkeep, more time for the things you enjoy, and a community full of people at the same stage of life.
Living in Arbutus Ridge
Arbutus Ridge feels tucked away, but everyday errands are close. Approximate drive times:
- Mill Bay: about 7 minutes
- Cobble Hill village: about 7 minutes
- Brentwood Bay ferry: about 15 minutes
- Duncan: about 20 to 25 minutes
- Langford: about 30 minutes
- Victoria: about 45 minutes
The gates are staffed around the clock, so you can travel or head south for the winter knowing someone is keeping an eye on things.
Getting outdoors
The golf course runs right through the community, and many homes back onto a fairway. Residents also have tennis courts, a seasonal outdoor pool and a gym, plus walking trails along the water.
If you like being on the water, there's a boat launch for residents.
Community
The Village Centre is the social heart of Arbutus Ridge. With more than 40 clubs to choose from, it's easy to meet people, pick up a new hobby or get back into an old one.
I'm proud to be part of the wider Cobble Hill community too. I sponsor the Cobble Hill Farmers Institute and the Kerry Park Islanders junior hockey team.
Homes and real estate in Arbutus Ridge
Arbutus Ridge is a bare land strata. You own your home and the land it sits on, and you look after them. Everyone shares ownership of the common areas, like the Village Centre, pool, tennis courts, green spaces and roads.
The monthly strata fees cover water, sewer, garbage, security, the amenities and the staff who run them, plus upkeep of the shared areas. RV storage is available for an extra fee.
Things to know before you buy
- At least one person on title must be 55 or older to live in Arbutus Ridge.
- Pets, rentals and other rules are set by the strata bylaws.
